BROWSE MY WORK BY STYLE

Scorpio Rising is a private, one-person studio in downtown Portland, Maine. No walk-in traffic and no strange vibes — it’s one client at a time, and you’re welcome to bring a friend or family member along. All the focus is on you, in a quiet, relaxing room with an adorable dachshund who usually sleeps through the session, though he may want to play if you’ve brought company.

Most of what I do is custom designed black and grey fine line work: botanical pieces, animals and birds, nautical work, mythology, portraits and full sleeves. We work out the design together over email before your appointment, so when you arrive everything is prepared and ready to go — no surprises, no awkward moments.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve gotten two pieces done by Jeff so far and I will definitely be going back for more. He is always prompt to respond to an inquiry, less than 24 hours in my experience, and does a great job communicating during the design phase prior to the appointment. His work is extremely well executed and he makes sure that you’re happy with all aspects of the tattoo before you leave the shop. If you’re looking for clean work in a comfortable and laid back studio you should definitely check out Scorpio Rising!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can’t recommend Jeff enough. I’ve had the most abstract idea for the longest time for a sleeve…with almost no guidance. I had developed the idea in my head, and had a very specific vision for what I wanted, I did not have the best time articulating it (or finding the best reference photo because it’s really an “off the beaten path” idea). Jeff was an open book, open minded, and gently steered me in the correct direction.

We are months into the project. As I’ve told Jeff (several times) his work has surpassed the vision I had in my mind. He’s a rad guy, a brilliant artist, his studio is top notch is ridiculously comfortable. Jeff is very responsive, and easy to communicate with.

Easily one of the most talented artists in the area. I’m excited for the next steps on this piece.

He produced an amazing landscape tattoo that has held up great and is my favorite piece. You can tell he’s very dedicated and wants his clients to feel that their tattoo is a work of art.
